Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award

Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award is given to Arrowmen who have performed outstanding service to Pathfinder Chapter. Nominate Scouts and Scouters who you believe have given distinguished service directly to the Pathfinder Chapter for at least two years. Jack J. Sophir Lifetime Achievement Award
Pathfinder Chapter also has a Jack J. Sophir Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is given to Scouters who are believed to have given a lifetime (minimum of ten years) of achievement and participation in the Order of the Arrow. The nominee must previously have received the Pathfinder Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award. Nominate someone by downloading nomination form for the Jack J. Sophir Lifetime Achievement Award.
Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year and Jack J. Sophir Lifetime Achievement Awards are presented each year at the Chapter Fellowship Banquet in February. If you believe someone is worthy of either award, nominate that person; do not expect someone else to do it, as they may go unrecognized.

Brendan Boyle
Brotherhood member Brendan Boyle has shown true service by serving the Chapter leadership as the OA Troop Rep Chairman and Service Chairman. He has also shown his dedication by serving as an active member of the Chapter’s Ceremonial Teams. Brendan has also participated on the District level by working on numerous Camporee staffs. For his unwavering desire to serve others in the Chapter, as well as the District, we cheerfully award the Jack J. Sophir Award to Brendan Boyle.
Rebecca Anderson
Rebecca Anderson is a true example of cheerful service and brotherhood. She is an active member of our district, currently serving as the Venturing Chairman. She has also served as the Cub Scout Week Long Day Camp Director and has worked on NYLT and Wood Badge Staff. She has been instrumental in revamping the Venturing program in Pathfinder, while still staying active in the Boy Scouts by serving on numerous Camporee staffs. For her tireless efforts on behalf of Pathfinder and our Chapter, we cheerfully award the Jack J. Sophir Award to Rebecca Andersen.
Ryan Stoeckel
Brotherhood member Ryan Stoeckel has exemplified true service since his induction in 2010. He quickly became active in the Chapter, serving as the Webmaster Chairman last year and as the Chapter Secretary for the current term. He has been an Elangomat, Camp Promoter, and is an active member of the Ceremonial Team. Outside the OA, Ryan has been a Patrol Leader and Assistant Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 643 and has staffed numerous district Camporees and Klondikes. For his never ending drive of cheerful service in his troop, Chapter, and district, we gladly present the Jack J. Sophir Award to Ryan Stoeckel.
Drew McCoy
Scouter Drew McCoy has shown his dedication to our Chapter through countless years of cheerful service. He has attended numerous service projects and chapter events, and has served as an Elangomat, Camp Promoter, and a Ceremonial Site Captain. He has also served on numerous district camp staffs, including Camporees, Call of the Wild, and Den Chief Training. For his unwavering service on behalf of our district and chapter, we gladly present the Jack J. Sophir Award to Drew McCoy.

Zack Becker
After joining Pathfinder Chapter in 2012, Eagle Scout Zack Becker faithfully served Pathfinder as Chapter Chief in the previous year, leading the chapter to Gold level Journey to Excellence status. After serving on the Order of the Arrow trail crew at Philmont, Zack came back and actively encouraged others to attend OA high adventure. He currently serves the Shawnee Lodge as the National and Sectional Chairman. A dedicated leader, Zack has served on numerous District Camporees, including being Campmaster for last year’s Fall Camporee. For his unwavering cheerful service to the Chapter and beyond, we wholeheartedly award Zach Becker the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the year Award.
Matthew Beyes
Life Scout Matthew Beyes, inducted in 2011, truly exemplifies the principles of cheerful service in the Order of the Arrow. During his three-year tenure in the Order, he has served Pathfinder Chapter as Arrow of Light and Crossover Chairman, Ordeal Chairman, and is currently serving as Brotherhood Chairman. Outside of chapter duties, Matthew has enjoyed participating in ceremonial teams for Arrow of Light and Crossover, Pre-Ordeal, Ordeal, and Four Winds ceremonies. Along with being very active in Order of the Arrow, he has also been a valuable asset for his unit, holding numerous leadership positions, including numerous terms as Senior Patrol Leader, in troop 664. For his unwavering dedication and passion for our Order, we enthusiastically honor Matthew J. Beyes with the 2014 Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.
TJ Keith
Life Scout TJ Keith is a constant reminder of our obligation to a life of cheerful service. He has served the Chapter as a chairman and is currently serving as Pathfinder’s Second Vice-Chief. But while it is good to know that he has served the chapter, it is great to know that he has always done so cheerfully. Having participated in ceremonial team for several years now, it is easy to see that TJ is incredibly passionate and motivated. TJ has worked extremely hard to ensure the success of the Chapter -not only through ceremonial team, but through giving all that he can to the OA. It is for his ongoing desire to cheerfully serve that we award the Jack J Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award to TJ Keith.
Griffin Stoeckel
Eagle Scout Griffin Stoeckel is a perfect example of how to lead a life of cheerful service. He has been active on the ceremonial teams since his induction in 2011. Whenever there is an OA activity, Griffin is always there ready and willing to do whatever is necessary to get the job done. Last Fall Reunion, Griffin ran for chapter office and was elected to Chapter Secretary. Outside the OA, Griffin is currently serving his troop as the Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. He has staffed numerous District Camporees and will serve on NYLT staff this summer. For his steadfast devotion to cheerfulness in service, we eagerly award the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year award to Griffin Stoeckel.

Christopher Hahn
Life scout Christopher Hahn, has been a valuable member of the Pathfinder Chapter. He has served as our Chapter’s Ordeal Chairman and is currently the Brotherhood Chairman. He is actively leading the new Brotherhood team in learning the new ceremony. Besides being a chairman for the Chapter, Christopher has actively been a member of our ceremonial team. He has preformed the Ordeal Ceremony several times and has done numerous Arrow of Light and Crossover Ceremonies. Now he is a part of the Brotherhood team. Christopher worked on Summer Camp Staff at S-F last year and is looking forward to working again this year. For his cheerful service to the Order, we present Christopher Hahn with the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the year Award.
Joel Schwartz
Scouter Joel Schwartz exemplifies the core principles of the Order of the Arrow. Joel is a humble servant leader, who has cheerfully served Pathfinder Chapter as Webmaster Adviser and as a Ceremonial Team Adviser. During his tenure as a Scoutmaster, Joel promoted OA involvement within his troop. He continues to do so as his troop’s OA Troop Representative Adviser. Joel also supports Pathfinder District through his service to Roundtable Staff, Training Staff, and the Quartermaster Corps. Joel plays a pivotal role in Pathfinder Chapter’s communications, working with the Scouts to make sure the chapter website is up to date. For his cheerful service and unending devotion to his troop, district, and chapter, we are proud to present Joel Schwartz with the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.

Ray Kreienkamp
Scouter Ray Kreienkamp has made a tremendous impact on Pathfinder Chapter’s communications and Troop Representative program. In his four years as the chapter’s Troop Representative Adviser, he has been a fantastic resource for the various Troop Rep Chairmen. With Ray’s leadership and guidance, Pathfinder has: implemented Troop Representative Training at Fall Camporees; promoted the OA Troop Representative Adviser position of reponsibility and attained a Troop Rep Adviser in the vast majority of Scout troops; and promoted the Order of the Arrow Unit of Excellence Award, which multiple troops in our district have earned. Through a successful Troop Representative program and effective communication, attendance at chapter events has increased year after year. Ray has also helped advise the Chapter Officers on effective chapter-wide communication, with the adoption of new communication technologies. Due to their success in Pathfinder Chapter, many of these initiatives are being adopted by Shawnee Lodge or other chapters. Ray is an Eagle Scout, who served as a Chapter Chief and Shawnee Lodge Officer while a youth Arrowman. His youth Scouting and OA experience has enabled him to be an exceptional Adviser, and Pathfinder Chapter has greatly benefited from his ideas and leadership. For his humble, behind-the-scenes service to Pathfinder Chapter, we enthusiastically present Ray Kreienkamp with the Jack. J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.
Ethan Bopp
Eagle Scout Ethan Bopp, has been a valuable member of the Pathfinder Chapter. He has served as the Chapter’s Arrow of Light/Crossover Ceremonies Chairman and is currently serving as the Chapter Secretary. Ethan had a key role in the writing of the New Arrow of Light/ Crossover Ceremony and has been on ceremonial team for many years performing the AOL/Crossover, Pre-Ordeal, Ordeal, and Brotherhood ceremonies. Ethan Bopp has also brought valuable leadership skills to the chapter through his participation and staffing of the National Youth Leadership Training course. For his cheerful service to the Order, we present Ethan Bopp with the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.
Wyatt Arnold
Scout Wyatt Arnold truly demonstrates what it means to serve cheerfully. Soon after his induction, Wyatt became active in the chapter’s ceremony teams, performing in many ceremonies and quickly becoming a leader in the teams. He has served our chapter as Ordeal chairman and is currently serving as Brotherhood chairman, taking on leadership roles to help others on the team. In addition to this, he was one of the key participants who wrote the new Arrow of Light/Crossover Ceremony. Wyatt is also active in the district’s camporee staff and currently serves his troop as Assistant Senior Patrol Leader. For his unwavering dedication to our chapter and the ideals of the Order, we eagerly nominate Wyatt Arnold for the Jack J. Sophir Award.
Tanner Voelcker
Tanner Voelcker is an excellent example of selfless leadership in the Order of the Arrow and Scouting in general. He has shown outstanding service to his troop by serving as OA Troop Representative, Instructor, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, and currently serves his Troop as a Junior Assistant Scoutmaster. As a Brotherhood member of the Pathfinder Chapter of the Order of the Arrow, Tanner has been a member of the Crossover Ceremony Team, and is currently serving his second term as Chapter 1st Vice Chief. He rarely misses a Chapter Service Project, has attended NOAC and constantly promotes “Cheerful Service” to other members. For his continuing cheerful spirit and devotion to service, we are proud to nominate Tanner Voelcker for the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.
Matt Beyes Lifetime Achievement
2017 Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year – Pathfinder


Samuel Beyes
Scout Samuel Beyes is a truly dedicated member of the Order. Since his induction Sam has been member of the Chapter’s Leadership team starting off as the service chairman for 2 years then served as the Arrowman of light/Crossover chairman last year while he is currently serving as the Chapter’s Second Vice Chief. Samuel has also been a very valuable member for our ceremonial team preforming and teaching, AOL/Crossover, Pre-Ordeal, Ordeal Brotherhood and the 4 Winds Ceremony to our newer ceremonialist. In addition to preforming so many different ceremonies Sam and his brotherhood team took first place at the Arrowman Experience last year and he willing gave up his time to preform the brotherhood ceremony at OA summer camp last year. Outside of the chapter Sam has served his troop as SPL, troop guide and OA troop rep as well as serving on numerous camporee staffs. For his continued service to the Order, we cheerfully nominate Samuel Beyes for the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the year award.

Owen Fuchs
Scout Owen Fuchs truly lives up to the scout motto “Do your best” because he does the best he can in everything he does. He has served on multiple Klondikes and Camporees and his events are always organized in a timely manner and executed wonderfully. Owen has also served as his troops OA representative. As his troops OA representative he has done an outstanding job with keeping his troop up to date on all OA events and he now serves as the Pathfinder Chapter Secretary. As Secretary he is doing what is necessary to be a good secretary, and does more than is expected of him. For these reasons we proudly nominate Owen Fuchs for the Jack J. Sophir award.

Nicole Bopp
Since her induction Nicole Bopp has been a tremendous help with the pathfinder Chapter. She began by attending chapter ceremonial meeting aiding scouts with memorization of lines, and when necessary fixing and mending regalia. From there Nicole went on to be our Camp Promotion advisor. Helping develop posters and programs for distribution. For the past few months she has been working hard as the Chapter advisor to ensure a smooth running Chapter. Nicole is also heavily involved in her troop serving as the committee chair for the past 5 years, and has been a camporee advisor and aided with multiple catholic cub days. For her infectious happiness in our Chapter we enthusiastically present Nicole Bopp with the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.

Dan Stoeckel
Scouter Dan Stoeckel truly exemplifies the three points of the Order of the Arrow. Mr. Stoeckel has served as Arrow of Light/ Crossover Ceremonies Advisor for the Chapter for several years, making sure that every pack gets the ceremony it deserves. He has selflessly transported gear and regalia for most every ceremony, carrying a burden for the Chapter, yet maintaining his cheerful, positive attitude all the while. Dan Stoeckel has attended most every chapter meeting and Service Project since his induction in 2009. Along with his actions in the Chapter, he has also supported his two children through their involvement in the Chapter. For his dedication to the Pathfinder Chapter and his I waive ring cheerful service, we proudly nominate Dan Stoeckel for the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year award.

Tony Arnold
Tony Arnold has been involved with the order of the arrow since 2014. Tony Arnold inspires all the Scouts in his chapter to become the very best leaders they can be. Tony has served his chapter as a ceremonial team advisor for 2 years. He has helped the ceremonial team better themselves into the team that they are today. He is also seen at many OA functions. He helps out when he can, and is always trying to find a way to increase the efficiency of anything that he does. He has also been to multiple service projects, where he has diligently worked with the scouts and adults to get the projects done to the best quality possible and doing so in a manner that makes it a learning experience and enjoyable for all involved. Max Wild
Eagle Scout Max Wild exemplifies the values of the Order of the Arrow and Scouting overall. Max has shown outstanding service and leadership to his troop by serving as OA Troop Representative, Troop Guide, Leave No Trace Trainer, Patrol Leader, Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, and is currently Senior Patrol Leader. As a Brotherhood member of the Pathfinder Chapter of the Order of the Arrow, Max has served as staff at multiple Camporees/Klondikes and is currently serving his second term as Chairman of the Service Committee. His dedication to the Order of the Arrow drives him to serve in the spirit of brotherhood, cheerfulness, and service by committing to causes that serve his community and helps others. Max is always leading by example and modeling what it means to him to be a good Scout and Arrowman — leadership through service and stewardship, and for this enthusiastically award Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.

Alexander Ficken
Brotherhood member Alexander Ficken has shown exemplary service to the Pathfinder Chapter in recent years. He has served as the AOL/Crossover Chairman and is currently the Program Chairman. Alexander is also a member of the Chapter’s Ceremonial Team. Participating in many ceremonies for the Chapter, Alexander has also been on a winning New Ordeal team at the Arrowman Experience. For his dedication to supporting the chapter in ceremonies and chairman roles, we wholeheartedly present the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.
Tylor Krieger
Eagle Scout Tylor Krieger has been a truly dedicated member of the Order of the Arrow. Tylor holds the honor of Bortherhood and has served on the Chapter Ceremonial Team since his induction. He has served as AOL/Crossover Chairman and currently serves as Second Vice Chief. Tylor and his team recently competed and won for a New Ordeal Team at Arrowman Experience. Tylor is always willing to jump in and help wherever necessary with a smile on his face. For his enthusiastic spirit, we happily present the Jack J. Sopir Arrowman of the Year Award.
Elin Asvaldsdottir
Scouter Elin Asvaldsdottir has shown exemplary service to the Pathfinder Chapter. Since her induction, Elin has been a dedicated member. Elin immediately worked to form a troop ceremonial team to perform the AOL/Crossover ceremonies for their pack. Shortly after this, the team merged with the Chapter’s team and continued to offer their talents for Packs in the Pathfinder Chapter. Elin then excitedly assumed the role of AOL/Crossover Adviser. She continues to support the Chapter in any task asked of her. For the last two years, Elin has offered her time and talents to the Lodge, leading a workshop at Arrowmen Experience to help scouts create their own regalia. Elin has served as OA Assistant Scoutmaster and now serves as Scoutmaster for a new troop of young ladies. For her vigilance and dedication, we enthusiastically present the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.

Joel Portman
Scouter Joel Portman has demonstrated consistent commitment to the Pathfinder Chapter. Joel has served as the Elangomat Adviser for the last seven years. During this time Joel has attended virtually every Spring Conclave and Fall Reunion, spending his days working alongside Arrowmen in the Chapter as the complete their service projects. During the evenings Joel can almost certainly be found on one of the Chapter’s ceremonial sites, watching the candidates he worked with all day as they receive their Ordeal sashes. For Joel’s dedication to the Chapter and its newest Arrowmen, we are excited to nominate Joel A. Portman for the Jack J. Sophir, Arrowman of the Year Award.

David DuBois
Scouter Dave DuBois was inducted into the Order of The Arrow as a youth. He is an Eagle Scout and his lifelong commitment to the Scouting Program is commendable. As a Scoutmaster, Dave has continually worked with his scouts to reach First Class Rank to be eligible for election into the OA. He regularly attends OA events and encourages his Troop to attend, as well. Under Dave’s leadership and support the Pathfinder Chapter has had numerous scouts from his Troop join the ceremonial team, become Chairmen, and Chapter Officers. Dave is currently the District Camping Chair and continues to support the Chapter at District events. Dave is a Vigil Honor recipient and dedicated member of the Pathfinder OA. We graciously support Dave as a Jack J. Sophir honoree.
Andrew McCandliss
Eagle Scout Andrew McCandliss has been an outstanding member of the Chapter from his induction. He has achieved the brotherhood honor, and is an experienced member of the ceremonial team, serving from when he was inducted in the OA, as well as participating in a winning New Ordeal Ceremonial team during Arrowman Experience. His leadership skill extends beyond the scope of being a long-time ceremonial team member, as he has held the chairman positions for Arrow of Light Crossover and Ordeal as well as the position of second vice chief, currently serving as brotherhood ceremony chair. Andrew McCandliss is an example of the great commitment a scout should have in the OA, and for his service to the Chapter as well as his long-time commitment to the ceremonial team, we gladly present to Andrew McCandliss the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the year award.

DeAndre Westbrook
Eagle Scout and Pathfinder Chapter Chief DeAndre Westbrook took to chapter leadership as soon as possible after his induction. When he was eligible for an officer position, he ran for Secretary and continued to serve in the officer positions as secretary for a second term afterwards. He took the responsibility of leading the chapter when it had to be done, a sign of a true leader. DeAndre has dedicated a large amount of time for the chapter, setting an example for the future leaders of Pathfinder in the OA and making the lives of people he works with easier. It is plain to see that he has a strong respect for the responsibility of leading the chapter, and due to DeAndre’s commitment to act on this responsibility and the dedication he shows while doing so, we gladly present to DeAndre Westbrook the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the year award.
Patrick Hawkins
Eagle Scout Patrick Hawkins has been a respected member of our chapter for several years. Shortly after when he obtained his Ordeal, he led the program for all of our chapter meetings even leading into the coronavirus pandemic, proving him to be a valuable member of the chapter, working flexibly along with the constant changes that come to our chapter meetings as they are planned. Ever since he joined the ceremonial team, he has been a valuable member by mentoring new ceremonialists, as well as filling in for ceremonies, taking to his role effectively and quickly as he is needed. Because of his great effort as a member of both the ceremonial team and as a key chairman in the chapter, we gladly present to Patrick Hawkins the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the year award.
Tom Coscia
Scouter Tom Coscia exemplifies strong dedication to the Order of the Arrow and Scouting. Tom has been an active member in the Pathfinder Chapter for many years and has most recently been serving as the Chapter’s Webmaster Advisor. It is in this advising role that Tom has encouraged a stronger web presence and introduced new aspects to the website. He has also been serving as the Scoutmaster for his troop for 30 years, where he has promoted OA and encouraged his scouts to complete their Ordeal and obtain their Brotherhood. For his cheerfulness and unending devotion to his troop and chapter, we are proud to present Tom Coscia with the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.

Lorenzo Gutting
Scout Lorenzo Gutting has shown exemplary leadership in the chapter as a member of the ceremonial team and leadership. Lorenzo came into the order full force in the ceremonial team while also serving as the Ordeal chairman. He learned his lines lightning-fast and did a fantastic job on his first performance performing both the Pre-Ordeal and Ordeal ceremony at a 2020 Induction weekend. He has steadily learned many roles and ceremonies over the past two years and is still an active member of the ceremonial team. Loenzo is currently serving as the chapter Ordeal chairman. He is also the current SPL of his Troop (362). For his cheerful service, we wholeheartedly present Lorenzo D. Gutting the Jack J Sophir Arrowman of the year award.
Neil Maxwell
Scout Neil Maxwell has done a superb job of being involved and active in his troop and the Order of the Arrow. He has been on the ceremonial team since he was elected into the order, and has done well-performing ceremonies. He is serving in his second term as Chapter Second Vice-Chief. He is very organized and responsible in all of the roles he has taken on. Neil has been a pivotal member of the Pathfinder Chapter and he is always happy to step up and offer whatever services are needed to get the job done. He takes his involvement very seriously and is a solid member of the ceremony. It is with an exuberance that we present the Jack J Sophir Arrowman of the year award to Neil T. Maxwell.
Ben King
Eagle Scout Ben King became an active member of the chapter by attending all chapter and lodge activities. He first served as the chapter in the role of Service chairman and then with little knowledge of building websites, Ben volunteered to become the chapter Webmaster chairman. He served for multiple years and picked up the WordPress software rather quickly. We are fortunate that he continued his service when he was elected Chapter Chief at this past Fall Reunion. Besides his chapter leadership, Ben has served his troop as Senior Patrol Leader and the Lodge as LodgeMASTER chairman and Founders Award chairman. It is with great honor that I present to Benjamin King the Jack J sophir Arrowmen of the year award.
Declan O’Leary
Scout Declan O’Leary has been a welcome addition to the chapter over the past several years. Actively participating in chapter activities since his induction into the Order of the Arrow. Declan began his leadership within the chapter as Troop OA Representative for a couple of years, frequently serving as an Elangomat, and is now serving as the chapter’s First Vice-Chief. He has been an integral part of the chapter willing to step up and volunteer whenever anything is needed. Besides his role in the chapter, he has been serving his troop (49) as Senior Patrol Leader. For his overwhelming service to the chapter we present the Jack J Sophir Arrowman of the year award to Declan B. O’Leary.

Ethan Chapie
Eagle Scout Ethan Chapie has done a superb job of being involved in the Order of the Arrow and Pathfinder District. Ethan began his leadership in the chapter as the Quartermaster Chairman and currently serves as 1st Vice Chief. He is very active in Camporee Staff and has previously served as Campmaster. He also served as his troop’s Senior Patrol Leader. Ethan is an excellent embodiment of the Order of the Arrow, showing what it means to be a part of the Brotherhood of Cheerful Service. What makes Ethan truly remarkable is his constant cheerfulness and positive attitude. His infectious enthusiasm brings joy to everyone that he works with, and he is known for making difficult tasks seem fun and exciting. For Ethan’s constant cheerfulness and leadership in service, we wholeheartedly present Ethan J. Chapie with the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.
Trey Maxwell
Scout Trey Maxwell has worked hard and has been incredibly involved in his troop, the chapter, and Scouting as a whole. Trey has cheerfully served as a Patrol Leader in his troop for two years, helping plan campouts and activities. Trey is also in his second term as Chapter Secretary, where he has greatly improved chapter communications, while serving as one of the members of the ceremony team. Trey is dedicated to service at the district level, serving on camporee and klondike staff. He is also starting a leadership career at the council level by being selected for NYLT Staff. For his cheerful dedication to leadership and service at all levels of Scouting and the Order of the Arrow, we joyfully present Trey P. Maxwell with the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.
George McCandliss
Scouter George McCandliss has made a lifelong commitment to Scouting and to the Order, having been inducted as a youth. He is an Eagle Scout, and was active in Scouting programs as well as staffing camps across the country. As an adult, he took an active role in the Cub Scouting program as the Committee Chair and transitioned into the Scouting program with his children. He became Scoutmaster, and ushered in reforms to the troop’s patrol system as well as making it a goal to have every new Scout reach the rank of First Class in their first year. He has helped the chapter by serving as a Quartermaster and encouraging Scout participation in the Order. He has dedicated a significant portion of his life to the goals of the Scouting organization, and seeks to get as many people, young and old, involved as possible. For his commitment to Pathfinder District, the Greater St. Louis Area Council, and the goals of Scouting as a whole, we graciously present George A. McCandliss with the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.

Brandon Barrett
Scout Brandon Barrett has been one of the most active members in his troop, the chapter, the district and Scouting in general. Brandon has served as a Senior Patrol Leader in his troop helping troop 344 thrive through his planning of campouts and activities. Brandon is currently the chapter’s Second Vice making sure our ceremonies are run flawlessly. Brandon is active in so many areas of scouting that we can’t list them all. He has happily served on the district camporee staff, NYLT staff, and Council Boatswain. On top of all of this Brandon will always step up to do any task with a smile on his face. For his cheerful dedication to leadership and service at all levels of Scouting and the Order of the Arrow, we joyfully present Brandon [idk middle initial] Barrett with the Jack J. Barbara Barrett
Scouter Barbara Barrett has dedicated many years of service to scouting. As an adult she has been instrumental as an Assistant Scoutmaster and has revived Troop 344’s documentation for rank and merit badges making it easy for any scout to know what they still need for their next rank. Mrs. Barrett has also taken a very active role in our district serving as an event advisor many times and serving as the Campmaster Advisor for the Spring 2022 Camporee. She has also been a massive help in our Chapter. Mrs. Barrett is at every single event always ready to help, and is continuing her cheerful service as our new Chapter advisor. Mrs. Barrett has been a fantastic adult leader and a friend to all who get to know her. For her cheerful service and dedication to scouting, we graciously present Barbara Barrett with the Jack J. Nathan King
Eagle Scout Nathan King has been an incredible asset to the chapter and the lodge for several years. Nathan has been a vital part of our ceremony teams since he joined, ensuring that each new member had a great experience. He served as a chairman before stepping up as Secretary, a position where he excelled, ensuring clear and consistent communication throughout the chapter. This year he has taken his skills to the next level as the Lodge Corresponding Secretary. For his steadfast dedication to the Order of the Arrow, we are proud to present Nathan King with the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.
Carson Lee
Eagle Scout Carson A. Lee has provided service to the Pathfinder Chapter and his troop for many years. He has served as Pathfinder service chairman and First Vice Chief. He is currently Pathfinder Chapter Chief. He is also a member of the Pathfinder ceremony team and attended NOAC last summer. He has had many leadership positions in his troop including Senior Patrol Leader. As Chapter Chief, Carson has worked to ensure the Pathfinder Chapter has excellent communication with members and continues to provide fun and engaging events for all members. Carson can always be counted on to provide cheerful service and always has a smile on his face encouraging others to join him. Chris Heyrman
Scouter Chris Heyrman is dedicated to Scouting and ensuring every Scout has the opportunity to succeed and lead. He received the Vigil honor as a youth in Potawatomi Council in Wisconsin. He is the Scoutmaster of Troop 954. He encourages OA participation among the Scouts in his troop. He has been the Elangomat Advisor for the Pathfinder Chapter since 2022. He works the Elangomat Chairs to ensure we have plenty of Elangomats and they are trained. He always volunteers to serve as an Elangomat if needed and helps with anything needed at OA Events. He attends most Chapter events including service projects and socials. Scouts describe him as always helpful and helping them succeed. For his service to the Pathfinder Chapter, we proudly present Chris Heyrman with the Jack J. Sophir Arrowman of the Year Award.
